President
Kinsey Fryer
Brigham City
About Kinsey Fryer
Hello! My name is Kinsey Fryer and I am majoring in social work and plan on becoming a LCSW in the future…hopefully the very near future! Like you, I keep busy outside of school with working two jobs and volunteering for a local hospice company and I would not have it any other way… I have learned the importance of managing my time and maintaining balance in my life so I may be able to keep my sanity throughout the semester and survive without that extra six-pack of red bulls! For this past school year I have been serving in the role of President Elect at the Brigham City Regional Campus and have enjoyed getting to know fellow students and faculty through their involvement with the events. I love USU and want to continue bringing out the full potential of this university and every student in it.
Platform
Whether you call yourself a traditional or nontraditional student, we all have the same end goal in mind; which is to hold a diploma in our hands on graduation day. It is true that we are all at different stages in life; however, I personally do not focus on these labels because I feel it creates a division on our campus that doesn’t need to be there. We are all students having more similarities than we do differences; and can support and strengthen each other as we travel on the road to graduation. As a student body, you should be able to decide how your money is spent; you may want better computer facilities, free food, tutoring or even a pool party. As RCDE President I will focus on the similarities we share and work day in and day out to ensure that every student’s voice is heard and each individual campus is getting their own specific needs met.

Dallin R. Reeder
Brigham City
About Dallin R. Reeder
Hi, my name is Dallin Reeder. I'm 23 years old and currently a Sophomore at Utah State University. I have a passion for sports, especially soccer. I attended Box Elder High School and played on the Soccer team there. I learned how playing as team makes you a better player. I served an LDS mission in Brazil where I learned how to gain a relationship with different types of people. Serving people became a daily routine. I love life and try to make the best of every situation.
Platform
The longer I have been at the Brigham City Campus I have notice that there is a wide variety of age groups that are students. I want to be able to do fun activities and bring unique ideas that can apply to those who are just out of High School and those that may be coming back after a few years. The great thing about Brigham City Regional Campus is that it is convenient for many people. I want to be able to get everyone involved and have a great experience!
Moab
Executive Vice President
Katherine Sullivan
Moab
About Katherine Sullivan
My name is Katherine Sullivan and I am currently enrolled at the USU-Moab campus to earn my Masters in Human Resources. I also work full-time at Seekhaven, a local non-profit, and volunteer with community organizations. I have lived in Moab year-round since moving here in the spring of 2008. I love the variety of outdoor activities available and enjoy mountain biking, hiking, and canyoneering. I like to cook and have recently been learning about at-home canning practices. I enjoy being back in the classroom and hope to put my degree to work as an HR manager soon after graduating.
Platform
The majority of students at USU-Moab do not fit into the traditional mold of a college student. We have full-time jobs, families, and community obligations—and go to school. As your voice on the RCDE student council, I want to make sure that the unique needs of Moab students are represented and addressed. I believe this can be done two ways: firstly, by spending student activity fees according to student wishes and needs. All students taking classes at the Moab campus pay student activity fees and I believe the funds should be spent well. Using surveys and individual feedback, I want to ensure the money we pay is used to our benefit. Secondly, I want to represent student interests by providing regular communication between current students and the USU-Moab campus planning group. USU-Moab is at the beginning of a transitional period due to the development of a new campus and expansion of services. I want to help facilitate an easier transition by serving as a liaison between the USU-Moab students, administration, and planners. As your representative, I plan to attend USU-Moab campus planning events and keep students up-to-date on events as they happen. In short, I want to make sure that the unique perspective and needs of USU-Moab students are understood and met in full.

About Richard Gonzalez
I was born and raised in Southern California but spend a few childhood years in Colima, Mexico with my grandma. She taught me the value of family, friendship, community involvement and to never settle. I consider myself an enthusiastic leader with integrity that embraces change. I love to spend time with my kids and to ride my dirt bike and sports bike. Yes, I do speak Spanish and one of my favorite quotes is “we got this!!”-George Lopez. My grandma always says, “If your guts are hanging out, just cut a piece off, throw the rest on your shoulder and keep on moving.” So, after I got laid off from my fourteen year employment, I got over the “bad thoughts,” assessed my situation, set focused on a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and enrolled at USU-Tooele. The support of my wife of seventeen years and my children has been the key to endure the challenges of change. We try to balance work, school, family time, and marriage by spending time together and being organized. I know and now see the positive effects higher education brings to a home; therefore, I no longer plan to stop at a Bachelor's degree.
Platform
“Getting through the fog of uncertainty is part of change”-Marcia Powers. Yes, change can be uncomfortable, but it can also be refreshing. As Tooele Regional Executive Vice President I intend to promote change. I intend to promote a balance between the activities for traditional and non-traditional students at our regional campuses. I will echo the voice of students and get results.

Jay Merrill
Brigham City
About Jay Merrill
Hi, my name is Jay Merrill. First, thanks to all of you for your hard work, dedication, and hopefully your vote. I enjoy basketball, food, being with family and friends, singing in the shower, playing with children, and acting cooler than I really am. I was born and raised in Honeyville and continue to live there, enjoying the peaceful country life. However I also learned to love the big city as I lived in Los Angeles, California for 2 years. There, I served a mission for the LDS church and learned to work with a wide variety of people. My passion for helping and serving others grew from my experiences there. There I also learned spanish and grew to love the Latin American culture. I am now a freshman finishing my first year of college with the hopes of teaching secondary science education. Upon attending Box Elder High School, I acquired valuable experience in leadership and serving fellow students as a vice-president of student government. I have grown to love the Brigham campus, and hopefully will be able to work with you in making it a better place for everyone.
Platform
It is an exciting time for Brigham City. Change is in the air; the near future will bring a bigger extended campus for USU-Brigham. Change can be difficult, but I will make sure your voice will be heard. I will do everything I can to create a meaningful learning environment for both the older non-traditional student, as well as the younger more traditional student. Becoming friends with many of you, I have become aware of your trials. I know that with all of your responsibilities; such as a family to take care of, a full-time job to worry about, and school on top of that; it is easy to feel trapped or stuck in a barrel. But if elected, I will plan, prepare, and work so that you might succeed. College will become something to be enjoyed rather than something to endure. If elected, I will fight on for you as an effective advocate for both the younger and the older students.

About Amanda Adams
Hello students! My name is Amanda Adams, I am an eighteen year old freshman looking to major in Business Administration and to minor in both Entrepreneurship and English. I’ve been attending USU and working at the bookstore since fall of last year, I also work my other job at the local Yogurt Factory. I know that even though I am a traditional student that at the regional campus’s none of us are traditional. I know that we can all work together and represent each other at this campus and I’ve seen it done in classes and on a daily basis among students. I’m always happy to get to know and work with new people and I’m ready for the challenge of being one of our campus representatives.
Platform
I’ve been attending the Brigham City Campus and working at our local bookstore since the Fall Semester of 2011. I believe that because of where I work that I get to talk to students and learn some of the problems our campus has easier than most are able to. I know what some of the students want changed at our campus: access to free printing, classrooms at a reasonable temperature, free scantrons, and for many students the accessibility of good coffee. I’m always available for a chat at the bookstore and if I get elected I will always be willing to hear any student’s questions or complaints. I know that students can connect with me and I’d like to show all students that I’m here to help all of you out.

Kaitlyn Averett
Ephraim
About Kaitlyn Averett
Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Blackham, the Utah State Representative here in wonderful Ephraim, Utah! I graduated from Manti High School in 2008 and then attended Snow College for two years. I loved being a member of the President's Leadership Team at Snow and it gave me such a wonderful opportunity to meet the amazing people of our community. After graduating from Snow in 2010, I moved up to Logan to further my education at Utah State. Yet, I came back only a semester later to marry my best friend, Jordan. We were married in July of 2011 and love being able to continue our education close to home. My husband plans to get his degree in Radiology, while I hope to one day become a school psychologist.
Platform
I hope to further help the students from rural communities across Utah. Getting a voice in such a small community can often be a difficult task, but I hope to change that by representing the Utah State RCDE Southwest students and connecting them to valuable resources they might not even know they have access to. I love Utah State and am excited to see the changes happening in distance education. GO AGGIES!

Jason Shelley
Tooele
About Jason Shelley
I am a Tooele transplant, initially from Salt Lake City. I now live in Stansbury with my lovely wife and three rescued dogs. I attended college in the past right after high school, and found little success. I had a hard time dealing with the impersonal institution, and felt like I already knew it all - then life taught me that I don't know it all. I found myself in need of a degree to progress in my career, and USU Tooele has been a perfect fit for me.
Platform
I love and thrive in the sense of community fostered at USU Tooele, and as a representative of the students here I will do everything I can to preserve it. I also recognize that most of the students at this campus are non-traditional and therefore do not have the same needs as most of the students USU is used to dealing with in Logan. As someone who is also a husband and a person with a job in addition to being a student, I will advocate on behalf of the non-traditional student to ease the process as much as possible. I will be a reasonable voice of the student body when dealing with the administration to make sure the specific needs of the Tooele campus are met.

About Aaron Fodor
Thank you so much for your time and consideration for me as your Utah State University’s Tooele Regional Campus Student Representative for the 2012-13 academic year! My name is Aaron Fodor and this is my second year at our Tooele Regional Campus. I am currently a sophomore and pursuing a degree in Biology. I enjoy being active, reading, and walking my wonderful dog named Rocko Baby! I grew up in Colorado and am also so grateful to have had the opportunity to return to school as a non-traditional student after having moved to the Tooele area couple of years ago. I have met so many wonderful people and I truly look forward to serving the students next year – as it will be a great year for us, filled with fun and exciting events, as well as growth and opportunity! Go Aggies!
Platform
Most importantly, as your student representative I will ensure that the voice of the students will be heard when it comes to the important issues that affect our campus. I also believe it is important to plan a greater variety of activities to accommodate our growing and diverse demographic we enjoy here at our Tooele campus. Therefore, as part of our 2012-13 campus student government, I will also ensure that events are planned that our whole family as well as our more traditional students can enjoy.

Kolby Lance
Uintah Basin - Vernal
About Kolby Lance
Serving others is what brings true happiness and meaning to life. As a life-long Vernal resident, I love our campus and the opportunity it’s given me to pursue my dream of becoming a dentist. I’m thankful for this opportunity to give back by serving as a campus representative. I have been fortunate enough to hold many leadership positions that have prepared me to serve in this position. I was the Senior Class President at Uintah High School in 2008. During that time, I was responsible for planning and organizing several student activities including dances, assemblies, service projects, a senior trip, and graduation. This position is life-long as I am in charge of planning class reunions. It has helped me grow in so many ways. Other leadership experiences I have had include: member of the Uintah High sports hall of fame committee, co-founder of the UB chemistry club, and head of the SGT. Daniel Gurr memorial project. I’ve also had many leadership experiences in my church both locally and during my time as a missionary in New Zealand and am proud to be an Eagle Scout! I’m looking forward to planning fun activities that also benefit this community we all love.
Platform
Some of the most amazing experiences I’ve had throughout my educational experiences have happened far from the classroom. I believe we can have activities that aren’t just fun, but have the potential to change lives for the better. As the president of Uintah High’s Class of 2008 I oversaw many service projects that benefited basin residents in need including one that brought in over $24,000 for needy children at Christmas time!! I’m excited to bring this experience to our campus. I already have several ideas in mind to reach out to less fortunate basin residents this coming year. We can make a difference! I went with USU’s Charity Anywhere Chapter to Tijuana Mexico over spring break to provide service to orphans. It was an experience that I will cherish for a lifetime! Logan students shouldn’t be the only ones with these amazing opportunities! I will ensure that Uintah Basin students have similar experiences. I plan to make a push for an explosion of new clubs at our campus! Taking a large group of our students to Tijuana next spring is one of many ideas I have to get Uintah Basin students big campus opportunities! I will constantly seek YOUR input!
