What can eTutoring do for Me?
The etutoring website allows students access to free online tutoring services on a variety of subjects. The website has a writing lab, live chat, and offline questions to which a tutor will respond within 48 hours. You can also sign-up for SMS alerts to your phone when your questions get answered. The subjects currently avaialble for these tutoring services are as follows:
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Engineering (coming soon)
- Math (Developmental through Trigonometry)
- Microsoft Office
- Outpatient Medical Coding
- Pathophysiology and Pharmacology
- Psychology (coming soon)
- Web Development (xHTML, CSS, and Dreamweaver)
Do you feel like your writing skills could be a little more polished? The eWriting Lab allows you to submit drafts of your papers to a tutor, ask for specific feedback, and receive a tutor's response within 24-48 hours. This is another free service that comes with eTutoring.
An amazing benefit of online eTutoring is the ability to participate in Live Tutoring via eChat, which allows you to meet with a tutor in one-on-one tutoring sessions via a fully interactive, virtual online environment. Live sessions are offered in every subject except for writing. See the weekly schedule to find out which time works best for you.
If you find that you can't meet with a tutor because of scheduling issues, the offline eQuestions allow you to leave a specific question for an eTutor, who will respond within 48 hours (but usually sooner). eQuestions may be submitted for any of the subject areas covered as part of the eTutoring system.
If you choose eChat, colored tutor icons will show which tutors are online. Click on the icon you wish to “chat” with.
Note that your browser must be set to allow pop-ups in order for eChat to work.
If a tutor isn’t available for eChat, you can leave the tutors an eQuestion. The Weekly Tutor Schedules are available in the lower left hand side of the welcome page.
