
Journalism
The minor in Journalism is designed to prepare students for a wide range of career options. The program combines practical mass communications skills training along with understanding the relationship, roles, and interactions of mass communication. Students will be able to develop critical thinking and the strong written communication skills necessary that when combined with their major coursework will lead them to success in their chosen field.

Admissions
New freshmen admitted to USU in good standing qualify for admission to the anthropology minor. Undeclared and transfer students from other USU majors or other institutions must have a minimum 2.5 overall GPA.
Requirements
To earn a minor in Journalism, students must complete a minimum of 18 credits of coursework with a minimum 2.5 GPA. JCOM 1000 and 1110 are required for the minor. Students must also select at least 9 credits from courses numbered 3000 and above. In consultation with his or her faculty advisor, each student should select courses which correspond to his or her area of interest.
