USU Testing Center
Testing for most online and print-based courses is usually proctored. Students living near the USU main Logan campus can take exams in the Testing Center, located in the Eccles Conference Center, Room 108H. Please call (435) 797-9700 or (800) 233-2137 at least 48 hours or two business days before you would like to take your test to schedule a time for your exam. Seating is limited, so generally walk-ins will not be available. Plan ahead for the end-of-semester rush and schedule final exams early.
Students who do not live near the Logan campus will need to find someone to proctor their exams. Many colleges and universities have testing centers which allow students from other schools to take tests. There may be a fee per each exam taken. Students are responsible for all fees incurred while taking exams.
Proctoring an Exam
Proctors are individuals that are responsible for supervising you as you take an exam. Proctors are needed to ensure educational integrity while the student is taking the exam. Examples of acceptable proctors are:
- college testing center personnel
- superintendent
- principal
- county agent
- military education director
- librarian
Relatives or co-workers are NOT eligible to proctor exams. If you have questions about proctor requirements, call (435) 797-9700 or (800) 233-2137.
After you have found your proctor, submit a Request for Exam form at least three days before you plan to take the test. A professional email address must be used. Hotmail, Yahoo, or Gmail or similar addresses will NOT be accepted. Exams must be taken at an educational, professional or governmental institution, not at the proctor's place of residence.
The Distance Education Testing Center offers facilities for students in need of proctoring services including distance learning and correspondence courses from other colleges or universities. A fee of $5.00 is charged for this service. To schedule an appointment, or for more information, please call (435) 797-9700 or (800) 233-2137.
