Online Semester Courses
Students register for online semester courses during open registration for campus classes. These courses begin and end on the same day as campus courses. Courses are delivered through Blackboard Vista or Syllabase. Students who register for these classes will receive login instructions at registration. On the first day of the semester, students should login to their classes to become familiar with course structures and requirements. Many online exams must be taken under the supervision of an approved proctor. For information about proctors and testing, visit the Testing page. Assignments are submitted through Syllabase or Blackboard Vista. Students interact with their instructors and classmates via email, online discussions, or other online communication tools.
Online semester courses offer more flexibility than traditional courses, while at the same time providing a challenging and rewarding environment. The majority of these courses have due dates and deadlines for assignments. Without constant student-professor contact, students should be prepared to do extra studying and reading to help them understand the material better.
