Master of Education in
Psychology - School Counseling

utah State university’s department of Psychology offers a master’s-level program of study which qualifies graduates for professional licensure in School counseling. The program is specifically designed to train individuals for school counseling positions in grades K-12 within public and private schools in elementary, middle, and high school settings. graduates also find placement in college-level advisement centers.

Specific coursework is formulated to train students in a broad range of skills including: college and career readiness, individual and group counseling for diverse populations, behavior and educational intervention, research and methodological foundations, and ethical, legal and professional standards. Experiential learning in the form of practicum and internship placements in private and public school settings is a critical component of the School counselor Education program.
